LIFE SKETCH OF COUNTY JUDGE D. A. MACAULAY ALBION. Oct. 23.-David A Macauley, county judge of Edwards county and a leader in financial eircles in Albion for number of years, passed away at the Olney sanitarium Tuesday at noon. For some months Mr. Ma cauley has been in poor health. He suffered breakdown in health last spring Last ednesday he was taken to the Olney hospital after his condition had become quite serious. Death was caused by complications. He was 58 years, 11 months and 11 days of age. Mr. Macauley was a son of David and Margaret Job Macauley was born in New York City on November 9. 1872, and came to Albion when 11 years old, with his mother following the death of his father in the East. When his mother remarried he went into the home of his uncle and aunt, the late Thomas and Mrs. Eliza Crome, north of town. He attended the S. C. and graduated with the class of 1893. He entered the law and completing was graduated and the bar in Missouri. Mr. Macauley was elected states' attorney in 1904 in AIbion and filled that office until as deputy in the court house. In he was re-elected in 1930. Mr. Macauley was for a num ber of years director and officer of the First National bank and later the National bank of Albion. He was president of the Browns State bank and receiver of the First State bank of Bone Gap and the West Salem State bank. At the time of his death Judge Macauley was a member of the library In 1913 the deceased was married to Miss Alice Painter who with one son, Hubert, survives. He also leaves sister, Mrs. John Stroup of Carbondale, a half sisand half brother, Thomus Pettigrew of Ellery Deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church of Albion and also member of the Mount Carmel lodge of B. P. O. E. the Presbyterian church here on Thursday morning at 10:30. Interment was made in Graceland.
