five years ago. Under the title. Grant, administratrix, vs. R. H. Maury & Co., the case has been pending in the court for a long number of years. The banking firm, when it went into bankruptcy, was one of the most prominent in the State, and it went down for a big sum. Grant was one of the chief creditors. The present litigation, which ends with the decree of yesterday, involved thousands of acres of land in West Virginia, owned by the Maury estate. Some of this property has been sold, hence the distribution, which runs up this time hard upon thirty to fifty thousand dollars. Among those who draw upon the estate are Messrs. A. W. Patterson and Eugene C. Massie, lawyers of this city, attorneys for the trustees and commissioners. Mr. Massie received a fee of $8,500 and Mr. Patterson $9,000. The latter said yesterday afternoon that this is the third dividend declared in the affairs of the company, and that there will probably be another. Willie Fisher, the negro man supposed to be a notorious highwayman, was examined yesterday by 'Squire George W. Thomas and was sent on to the grand jury. It is said that his bail was fixed in the sum of $1,000. The cases of J. Sandy Krouse, proprietor of the restaurant at Lakeside, and W. T. Enroughty, both of whom have been summoned to show cause why their license should not be revoked, have been fixed for July 26th. Miss Kate Voegler and Miss Sarah Giovanettie left yesterday for Baltimore, where they will spend a month with Miss Voegler's cousin, Mrs. Lona Ford. Mr. J. J. Mansini, a popular engineer of the Chesapeake and Ohio Railroad, is spending his vacation at Virginia Beach and Ocean View.
