State Sinking Fund Has Paid $548,328.83 Here Cerro Gordo County Leads State in Amount of Dividends Paid by Bank Receiverships. The state sinking fund has paid total of $548,328.83 in Cerro Gordo county since August, 1925, on public deposits tied in closed banks, up according to figures in the office of the county treasurer, Miss Joy Ridgeway. Nearly half of the fund, $7,778,000 went to counties, from which there were 386 claims. School districts submitted three times as many claims, but they aggregated $4,000.000. Cities or towns were paid $1.940,000, townships $683,000 and the state $463,500. Anticipatory warrants were issued totaling $12,600,000, of which all but about $1,500,000 have been paid. There was a balance Jan. of $884,176.17 to deposit claims. pay From All Units. The $129,066.39 includes the deposits of the county, townships, as well as cities and towns and other governmental units. For the county alone the figure is $76,582.44. This money, had it not been diverted to the sinking fund, would have gone into the general fund of the county. From these figures will be seen that Cerro Gordo county is still approximately $24,000 ahead, having received that amount more than has paid out. Miss Ridgway states, that she has received notice to divert the interest for another full year. The interest amounts to about $2,000 month. At Head of List. Cerro Gordo county stands at the head of the list in the amount of dividend paid by its closed banks despite the fact that only one, the State Savings bank of Ventura has completed liquidation. Further dividends will be forthcoming on the others.
