BANK OF HELENA ASSETS ARE SOLD A clean up sale of the assets remaining in the händs of the receiver of the defunct Bank of Helena property was made at noon Saturday at the Phillips county court house, when the West Helena Consolidated Co., bid in same for $50,000. The property sold consisted of parts of two small lots in Old Helena, 80 acres of land in Monroe county and also certain bills receivable, judgments, notes, overdrafts and accounts due the said bank and receiver, and also interests in the Superior Chair Co. and the St. Francis Cotton Mill of West Helena, and other property owned by E. C.and John S. Horner at the time of the failure of the Bank of Helena. The face value of the property is said to be approximately $1,200,000. but owing to depreciation and the fact that most of the accounts, notes, judgments, etc., are uncollectable and of no value. no estimate could be obtained of the actual value of the property at the present time.
