# LOCAL NEWS. Dr. Jasmann went to Sioux Falls Monday. Miss Rosa Mach went to Sioux City Saturday. Call up Phone No. 75 for best groceries. Jos. V. Janda of Wagner was in town Tuesday. E. B. Stevens, the piano tuner, was in town Saturday. Miss Emma Goehring spent Sunday with friends in Menno. Mr. and Mrs. John Foley from Olivet were in town Saturday. Miss Katie Wittmayer visited friends in Yankton over Sunday. A good selection of Trunks and Grips at John Schmierer & Son's. Mr. and Mrs. Alec McLaughlin returned Tuesday from Sioux City. Mrs. Jacob Deutcher went to Freeman Saturday to visit her parents. Misses Simmons and Robinson were shopping at Yankton Saturday. Mrs. Fannie Hunn and baby returned to their home in Springfield Monday. Mrs. Becker went to Parkston Saturday to visit her sister, Mrs. Schmierer. Mrs. Wm. Youngworth of Tyndall was in Scotland Monday on her way to Sioux City. Miss Marian Munn came up from Running Water Saturday morning to spend the day at home. New Shoes and Oxfords for dress in good lasts at John Schmeirer & Son's. Mr. Strobene of Wagner was in town Tuesday on his way to Stickney to look after his grain elevator. Miss Lola Campbell came home from Presho Saturday to see her mother who is sick with pneumonia. Mr. John Hird returned to Sheldon, Ia. Tuesday, after visiting at the home of his brother, James Hird. Dr. Chas. Swett of Presho was in town Monday on his way home from a visit with friends at Tyndall. John and Joe Cisar and Mrs. Frank Zolnowsky were called to Omaha Monday by the serious illness of their mother. Rev. Newton Williams and wife were up from Springfield Monday and spent the day with Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Reeves. Misses Lou Mowery and Ethel Davis of Parkston were guests of friends here Saturday. W. R. Smith of Mitchell, who was formerly a merchant in Scotland, was here Saturday. Receiver Landmann and Atty. E. P. Wanzer of Armour went to Sioux City Monday to look after matters pertaining to the defunct First National Bank. The attendance at the C. E. social last Friday evening held at the home of Rev. Collins was quite well attended, and the receipts of the evening were about $15. A pleasant feature of the evening was the music rendered by Mrs. Lyman of Gettysburg, after which various amusements were provided which made the evening pass very pleasantly.
