JURY CHOSEN TO TRY REED Defendant Once Convicted of Killing Missouri Valley Man. (Special Dispatch to The Logan. Sept. men and one Anna Reichel wife of dentist at Dunlap. will cide the fate of Ernie Reed. victed two of the killing of Harry Reel the fair grounds here the night of September 12. 1924. He sentenced hang and granted new trial by the supreme court at the April term. The jury was completed late today and the taking of testimony will begin Wednesday morning before Judge Mantz, of Audubon. Seven of the men are farmers, with G. Haldeman, shop man at Missouri Valley: Howe, park policeman Dunlap: W. Smith. grocery clerk Little Sloux, and Theurel Girto, garage man at Mondamin. Five the jury are from Dunlap. Reed's his Frank, of Valley, and Ed. of Rosalie, Neb., present while the jury being selected. The mother sat beside the prisoner with her around him. while the brothers consulted frequently. with the defense attorneys over the list of talesmen. the former trial none of the family would attend. There were none of the Reel family present today least half of the members lected on the jury admitted they were conscientious objectors the death penalty and the exhaustive questions with reference to their belief in the state's ruling hs to justifiable killing defense would indicate that the defense would take that angle. after the jury lected Judge Mantz them in charge of balliff and told them they from the public during the trial. Named Bank Receiver. Des Moines, Sept. state superintendent banking. was appointed receiver for the Sheldahl Savings bank in district court here today. Frozen assets were blamed for the failure the bank. which voluntarily asked the receivership.
