CIVIL SUIT FILED AGAINSTJ.P.LOGAN Receiver and Depositors of Bank of Grannis Bring Action Against Him-Find and Levy on Large Tract of Land-Sue for $3,775. Elmer J. Lundy, as attorney for the depositors and for W. M. Pipkin, receiver of the State Bank of Grannis, brought suit last week in the name of the receiver against John P. Logan for $3,775.50, balance alleged to be due by Logan on stock subscriptions to the bank. Attachment was levied last week on personal property alleged to belong to John P. Logan, and on Friday a further atachment was levied on 410 acres of land which it is said Logan owns in this county. Eighty acres of land which Logan had previously attempted to convey to the bank was also levied on, as the deed did not describe this tract correctly, making the conveyance ineffectual. In a statement made by Logan, it is said that he claimed he had conveyed all his land to the bank, but Mr. Lundy reports that upon searching the records it was found that Logan had purchased 410 acres at a tax sale in 1909, and the period for redemption having expired, clerk's deed was' issued to him in June of this year for this land.

Logan was cashier, made a report last week to Chancellor James D. Shaver, and the court ordered that he declare a dividend of 15 per cent. Thursday Mr. Pipkin made out vouchers and mailed checks to the various creditors, amounting in all to $2,571.95, which is 15 per cent of the total indebtedness of $17,146.38. Mr. Pipkin stated that he believed that the creditors would yet receive about a 10 per cent dividend, which would give them 25 per cent of their claims.
