# BAD MONEY AT CHANUTE. Bills Issued by a Georgia Bank Years Ago in Circulation. Chanute, Kan., Dec. 20.-Worthless money is in circulation here. The money is the bills issued by the Merchants' and Planters' Bank of Georgia, which suspended operations during the war. The denomination of the bill in the possession of the police is $5. It is issued by the defunct state bank of Savannah, Ga., and is engraved on a dull ochre paper of double thickness. In the upper corner appears the figure five in Arabic character and in the lower corners the Roman numeral.
