Description

Newspaper reports (Jan 1868) describe bill-holders filing a petition in bankruptcy because the bank's officers refused to pay on demand, indicating the Bank of Fulton had suspended payments and was subject to bankruptcy proceedings. No article describes a depositor run; outcome implies permanent closure via bankruptcy. I infer 'state' bank from the name but charter type is not explicitly stated.
