March 24.-A - run was started on the Merchants National bank here yesterday morning. and depositors crowded the tellers' windows until the bank closed in the afternoon. The oflicials say that the run was maliciously started by certain persons with intent to injure the bank. They say they are prepared to pay every dollar and have $100,000 remainng. There is not much alarm felt among he business men.
