Description

The bank suspended April 21, 1933 and operated under a conservator/receiver thereafter. Articles describe embezzlement, indictments of officers, a receiver/conservator handling assets, and later partial dividend payments — consistent with a suspension leading to permanent closure/receivership rather than a temporary run and reopening. Some OCR errors in articles (e.g., 'Highland' vs 'Highlands', 'conservator' spelled inconsistently) were corrected when extracting dates and facts.
