Description

Contemporary articles (Jan 18, 1930) state the Bank of Oviedo suspended business earlier in the week. Later (Dec 10, 1932) liquidator Tunnicliffe is paying dividends to depositors and the bank is described as having closed Jan. 1930, indicating permanent closure and liquidation. No article describes a depositor run prior to suspension; violent attacks (dynamiting) on the bank building and president's home are reported but the immediate cause of suspension is not specified in the texts, so cause is set to 'other'.
