FARMERS STATE BANK INTO RECEIVER'S HANDS The affairs of thedefunct Farmers State bank, which failed more than a year ago, and which has been operated since by the state banking board, areassuming shape for finalsettlement. Held, of the guarantee fund commission, was here Tuesday and he informs us that those depositors who have placed money in the bank since its operation by the board will receive their money in full at once. Those whose deposits date prior to the taking over by the board will receive very shortly a per centage of the amount of deposits, and, asseon as the affairs of the bank are put throughthe handsof a receiverand all claims adjusted the guaratitee fund commission will pay in full all depositors. Weare not authorized to state just how soon thiswill be, but under the law no one will lose any part of his deposit. This will put Eagle in the class of one-bank towns, where it should have been all alongfrom the standpoint of economic business. One bank can nicelytake care of all the business in these smaller towns and possibly make a little money for thestockholders; buttwo banks in a town the size of Eagle is the same proposition of two newspapers-only an aggravation to all who would see harmony and prosperity. Personally we have friendly relations with the menwhohave operated both banks, but we cannot but believe that two was one too many for the town.
