HIGHWAY FORCES FOR RIVERS, SAY HARDMAN AIDES Active Work All Over the State of Georgia Charged Officials and employees of the state highway department in all sections of the state are working openly for the nomination of State Sena tor E. Rivers for governor, was charged in issued Friday by the Hardman campaign committee. Many of them have their automobile decorated with Rivers placards and pictures. This they are doing in automobiles owned by the state and operated at the expense of the state. Governor Hardman a few days ago called attention to the fact that the highway department fleet of some 235 cars for the use of officials and employees. and also called attention to the huge maintenance expense thereof Their boldness in converting highway field organization into political field organization the boldness born of desperation. Success for their candidate is absolutely essential to the perpetuation of their machine.
