Description

Articles (June 11-13, 1930) report heavy withdrawals and 'unfavorable talk' leading directors to suspend the Bank Bay Biscayne and place it in the state's hands. Federal and local cash shipments helped stabilize other banks, but Bay Biscayne remained closed and entered liquidation (state liquidator, later litigation and criminal charges against officials). Thus a run triggered suspension and permanent closure/liquidation.
