Portland Savings Bank Fails to Open PORTLAND (Ore.), Dec. 19.The Hibernia Commercial & Savings Bank of Portland failed to open its doors for business today. The directors turned affairs of the institution over to the State Superintendent of Banks, after a long meeting. The last bank call on September 29, showed the bank had $6,529,896 in deposits; $3,095,557 in loans and discounts. capital of $500,000 and surplus of $100,000.
