A Banker in Jail. BLOOMINGTON, Ill., May 19.-W. H. Schureman, proprietor of the National Exchange Bank, which suspended last Monday, was taken to jail charged with embezzlement of the funds. He offered to furnish bail but was not allowed to do so.

National Bank Changes The latest bulletin of the comptroller of the currency, dated May 9, 1898, gives the following, among other changes: National Banks Organized-The State National bank of Bloomington, Ill., capital $150,000; J. Funk, president; A. B. Hoblit. cashier. The Leavitt and Johnson National bank of Waterloo, Iowa, capital $100,000; J. H. Leavitt, president: I. Rodamar, cashier. Application to Organize National Bank Approved-The First National bank of Ford City, Penn., capital $50,000, by M. J. Alexander, E. Pitcairn. W. D. Hartupee et al. Corporate Existence of National Bank Expired-The National State bank of Bloomington, Ill. expired by limitation May 8 1898. Liquidation-The Abilene National bank, Abilene, Texas, by resolution of its stockholders. to take effect May 3, 1898. Insolvent-The First National bank of Leadville, Colo., J. Watts appointed receiver in place of z. T. Hill, to take effect May 3, 1898. The Chamberlain National bank, Chamberlain, S. D., J. McDowell appointed receiver in place of J. L. Thompson, to take effect May 3, 1898.
