Stockmens State Bank Closes Doors The Stockmens State Bank, situated at Medicine Bow, definite. ly closed its doore Tuesday and in now in charge of the state bank examiner's office. according to a statement made today by banking authorities of this city. Those in touch with the situation at the closed bank believe its closing to have come as the result of adverse livestock gonditions. This bank is about six years old, occupying during that time its fine new building north of the Virginian hotel. It was one of the definite assets of the Medicine Bow community and this entire region regrets the necessity of the action taken by the state. The examiners office will be in charge until a thorough check has been made, when a receiver will be appointed.

Officers of Bank To Protect Depositors Tuesday morning, Nov. 27, The Stockmen's State Bank, of which Medicine Bow has so proudly boasted during the last five years, closed its doors to the public. Its failure came as a great shock to all the citizens of the community. On last Wednesday morning, previously, a rumor became afloat that the bank had failed, and of course, people who didn't know the officers behind the institution. becam e frightened, drew out their money, caused a run on the bank. Never before in the history of banking. have the officers made so brave an effort to protect their depositors, as they made in this instance. The only regret expressed among the people is that they were not aware of the condition of the bank, after a hard four days run, in order that they might have co-operated with the of ficers and made equally as diligent an effort to save their bank-the bank in which all their pride hás been centered. Failure on a square deal is not a failure-it is a boom. Never has the closing of a bank left as kiadly, a feeling and as charitable an attitude among the people. There Is no feelIng of alarm as to whether or not they will eventually receive. their money, they all know they will they know the mon behind this bank. The building stands, as a symbol of honestly--fve years of constant service to the people, and a commendable reputation, and to the president and cashier, we, the people of Médicine Bow, extend our sincere appreciation and good will. Citizens of Medicine Bow.
