the bank's accounts for the past three weeks. The First State Bank of Baggs was closed a few weeks ago by the state bank examiner and since that time he has been working on the accounts. The receiver of the bank, State Examiner W. R. Powers and Prosecuting Attorney McMicken thoroughly went over the books yesterday afternoon and further information on the matter will be available in a very short time. Mr. Maupin has always been considered a live wire in Baggs and he seemed to have the town and community at heart. Whenever any new movement or proposition came up in which the town of Baggs would be benefitted, he could usually be counted on as one of the best boosters. As the usual story goes, it is believed that Maupin misappropriated a small amount of the funds and in trying to make a come-back he got in so deep that he could not get out.

C. H. Fitzpatrick Appointed Receiver of the Baggs Bank C. H. Fitzpatrick of Rawlins, who is the owner and manager of the Carbon County Title Company, was appointed by Judge Tidball last Friday as receiver of the First State Bank of Baggs. Although February 12th was the date set down for the hearing at which time any person interested could appear and introduce testimony concerning the appointment of such receiver, the time was advanced until Friday because of the 12th being a legal holiday. Several persons from the river appeared in the interest of persons, who they hoped would be appointed to the position. Mr. Fitzpatrick is indeed qualified for the position and it goes without saying that he will fulfill the requirements of the work in all ways. He has lived in Wyoming about 18 years and during the 18 months of residence in this city he has established himself as a capable and conscientious man.
