Description

Multiple contemporary articles (Mar 26, 1931) report the Lyndon State Bank was suspended/closed by the state banking commissioner because of frozen/defaulted liens and frozen assets. Subsequent article (Jul 16, 1931) indicates the bank remained closed and a former cashier was arrested on charges related to false entries/embezzlement, supporting permanent closure rather than a temporary suspension/reopening. Deposits were reported about $241,954. No run on the bank is described in the articles.
