Description

Multiple articles (Apr–Sep 1899 and 1900) identify H. H. A. Hastings as receiver of the Security Savings Bank and advertise sales of the bank's real estate and sheriff's sales. No contemporaneous articles describe depositor runs; instead the bank is in receivership and its assets are being liquidated. Therefore this is a suspension leading to permanent closure/receivership. Dates use the earliest explicit newspaper mention of the receiver (1899-04-28).
