robbery, alleged to have been committed in Birmingham a few nights ago. Sims was captured in Abingdon village. Dr. J. A. B. Lovett, whose death occurred at Bessemer Wednesday, was for a number of years a citizen of Huntsville. He was pastor of the Cumberland Presbyterian church, principal of the city schools and superintendent of education for Madison county. While holding the position of superintendent Dr. Lovett organized a trustee's association and started agitating the question of adopting in Alabama a system of uniform text books. The agitation was taken up in various portions of the state and bore fruit after about 20 years. The Tennessee Valley bank has opened for business at Paint Rock simultaneously with the closing of the Bank of Paint Rock for which a receiver has been appointed. The new bank belongs to the Broadus chain of banks.
