banks ARE CAUTIOUS Cash Payments Suspended in Many Places. Colfax, Wash, Oct. 30.-The Colfax banks have adopted the same measures to protect their reserve as the other banks throughout the country. Immediately upon receipt of advices relative to the suspension of specie payments in the larger cities, the four banks here followed suit, and all have notices conpsicuously displayed on their doors. NO CASH AT PULLMAN. Pullman, Wash., Oct. 30.-Representatives of First National bank and Pullman State bank met with Colfax bankers at Colfax and decided to take action to prevent withdrawal of money for outside places. AT ROSALIA. Rosalia, Wash., Oct. 30.-The clearing-house action carried out by the financial centers was immediately put into force by the two banks here. The combined deposits are $500,000. The customers of both institutions cooperated at once, and business moves along smoothly. STOP PAYMENT AT TEKOA. Tekoa, Wash., Oct. 30.-A mild sensation was caused when the news became known that the Tekos banks would cease paying checks, drafts or bills of exchange in cash temporarily.
