# COURTHOUSE AND COUNTY NEWS Informations have been filed in the superior court against the following parties for the alleged maintaining of buildings in which intoxicating liquors have been kept and sold: State vs. Biotti, state vs. G. Delsecco, state vs. Lewis O'Lerri, all of Clayton, and state vs, Jerry Rugger and John Doe Stinson, living on the south shore of Loon lake. A search warrant revealed in the buildings several barrels of beer and other intoxicants which had been for the evident purpose of opening a general bootlegging business during the Fourth of July festivities. The seizure was made Saturday, and all of the defendants were incarcerated in the county jail in default of $300 bail. The names of the witnesses indorsed on the information are: Charles McNaughton, Evan Morgan, Claude Smith, Robert Soot, Evan Soot, Wm. Miller and W. W. Bryant. Peter Anderson has filed suit for divorce against his wife Marie Anderson on the complaint of desertion since Nov. 12, 1913, The Andersons were married at Coeur d'Alene Dec. 8, 1910; no children, and no community property has been acquired. The plaintiff owned prior to his marriage, and still owns, 260 acres of farm land a few miles northeast of Valley, which he asks the court to decree as his separate property. Grace E. Johnson has filed action against H. L. Smith and wife and others to foreclose a mortgage on two lots in Loon Lake. The mortgage was issued Sept. 6, 1913, in the sum of $250. The amount of interest unpaid, taxes, insurance, and attorney's fee total $410.88, which are involved in the action. Miss Alice M. Janneck, as receiver of the Northport State Bank, has commenced suit against Henry McInearny, P. J. O'Brien, S. W. O'Brien and G. A. Dahl to foreclose a $2000 mortgage on 80 acres five miles northeast of Northport. W. D. Miller of Kettle Falls, who was sentenced last May in Justice A. E. Baldwin's court for preventing W. T. Ferguson, deputy horticultural inspector, from entering upon his premises to destroy portions of some fruit, trees infected with fire blight, has filed an appeal in the superior court. It is stated in Olympia that the Stevens county auto license business, which is reported to the secretary of state, was handled as well if not the best of any county in the state. Many counties sent in inaccurate reports, with parts not filled out, and much confusion resulted in having to return many reports to the county auditors for correction. Auditor A. B. Sansburn of this county, when confronted with the report of his accuracy, did not seem greatly excited and wanted to know why he should not do his work right.
