KALAMA RECOVERS MONEY HELD BY DEFUNCT BANK In the report of the town of Kalama issued last Friday by the bureau of inspection, it is shown that the last payment on the large amount of money tied up in the Kalama State Bank when the bank failed several years ago, has been paid back. The final payment on $7,287.14 which was the original sum in the bank at the time it failed, ammounted to $1,107.71, according to the yearly report of the city treasurer to the bureau of inspection. The report also shows that more money was expended during the year in the city than was provided for in the yearly budget. This, according to the report, was the result of outstanding warrants, which at the present time amouated to $2,794.79 more than they were at the beginning of the period, which was on October 15, 1919. This was largely due to street improvements, the money for which came out of the general fund instead of by assessments.
