PEOPLES BANK OF VINTON CLOSES President Says Bank Solvent and Hopes to Reopen in Few Days The Peoples Bank of Vinton closed its doors at noon and posted notice stating that the board of directors had ordered such action for the protection of the bank's depositors Later C. L. Atkinson president, issued statement saying the bank had closed its doors temporarily because of steady withdrawals during the past several weeks and expressing hope that it would reopen few days The statement of the president follows "The Peoples Bank of Vinton 1.85 closed temporarily on account of continuous withdrawals of the past several weeks, caused by false rumors about the condition the bank and directors are confident the bank entirely and hope to be able to reopen in & few days He declined to enlarge upon this brief statement.
