The state bank examiner of Virginia 1 has just applied to Judge W. W. Moffett of the circuit court of Montgomery county for the appointment of a receiver for the Radford State 1 Bank.
Bank In Bankruptcy. Roanoke, Va., July 14.-Acting under the direction of the state corporation commission. C. C. Barksdale, of Richmond, state bank examiner, this afternoon applied to Judge W. W. Moffett. of the circuit court of Montgomery county, for the appointment of a receiver for the Radford State bank. The petition, presented to Judge Moffett by R. Holman Willis, of this city. attorney for Examiner Barksdale, sets forth that an examination of the books of the bank has revealed irregularities in the conduct of the institution, that its capital has been impaired, and that the order of the corporation commission that the directors of the bank proceed forthwith to correct the irregularities has not been complied with. The petition further shows that the commission deemed it necessary to close the doors of the bank on July 12 and place its affairs in charge of John A. Beeker, assistant to the chief bank examiner.
