GENERAL RECEIVER Mr. A. Randolph Howard Qualifies in Corporation Court, At the opening of the October term of the Corporation court Wednesday, Judge J. T. Goolrick presiding, Mr. A. Randolph Howard, cashier of the Conway, Gordon and Garnett National Bank, qualified as general receiver of the Corporation court of the city of Frederleksburg, Va., to which position he was appointed by the court some time ago. He gave bond in the sum of $5,000.

News of Fredericksburg, Va. Special Correspondence of The Star. FREDERICKSBURG, Va., December 9, 1907. A Randolph Howard, cashier of the Conway, Gordon & Garnett National Bank of this city, who was appointed by Judge Goolrick a general receiver of the corporation, has tendered his resignation. His successor has not been appointeu. Mr. and Mrs. Lee J. Graves have announced the engagement of their daughter Alice T. to S. T. Coleman, recently elected commonwealth's attorney of Spotsylvania county. The wedding will take place in January. Dr. W. H. Harding of Northumberland county suffered a stroke of paralysis last week. St. George's Protestant Episcopal Church, this city, was the scene of a wedding a few evenings ago, when Miss Katherine Lee Montgomery, daughter of Mrs. Blanch Brockenbrough Montgomery, and Daniel Lucker Grove of Clarksburg, W. Va., were married. Miss Sallie B. Montgomery, sister of the bride, was maid of honor and Harrison Schley of Shepherdstown, W. Va., was best man. Fredericksburg Council, No. 416, Royal Arcanum, has elected the following officers: Regent, Thomas H. Harris; vice regent, J. W. Thomas; orator, H. Kaufman; collector, W. F. Coates; treasurer, J. F. Brown; warden, R. L. Stoffregen; secretary, George T. Downing: sentry, T. J. Haydon; guide, R. E. Bozel; chaplain, O. J. Owens; past regent, W. H. Hurkamp; trustees, E. C. Ninde, J. M. Boulware; representative to Grand Council, W. F. Coates; T. H. Harris, alternate.
