LATE LOCALS. Governor Going to California-Gov. Cutler, accompanied by Mrs. Cutler and Miss Hazel Cutler, leave tonight for Los Angeles to be gone about 10 days. Today's Clearings-Today's local bank clearings amounted to $707.538.07 as against $1,136,242.33 for the same day last year. Henty Society Officers-The semiannual election of officers of the Henty Literary society will take place tonight in the club rooms on Twelfth East street. Chief Clerk Wilcott III-Chief Clerk Wilcott of General Manager Murray's office, at the Bell Telephone company, is confined to his home by illness. In the meantime Mr. Marix is holding down the desk. New Law Firm-A new law firm is announced today. embracing partnership between Mathonihah Thomas Stephen L. Richards and Nathan T. Porter, three young attorneys who have long since won their spurs in 10cal legal circles. Successful Ball-The ball given last night by the Congregation Montfiore at Kennedy's hall for the benefit of the Hebrew Free school, was succesful both financially and socially. A large number was in attendance and the affair altogether was most enjoyable. Company Changes Name -The Campbell Commercial company filed with the secretary of state this morn. ing an amendment to its articles of incorporation, changing the corporate name to the J. S. Campbell company. The company conducts its business at Logan. Annual Meeting of Fair Association -The annual meeting of the State Fair association will be held next Monday night, when Secy. Horace Ensign will present his annual report, which promises to be very interesting. The association has made a decided advance the past 12 months, and it is on a stronger foundation now than ever before. Receiver at Green River-Upon the recommendation of State Bank Exam_ iner C. A. Glazier. Doren Perrine has been appointed as receiver of the Green River bank. which was closed by order of the secretary of state a few weeks ago. Mr. Perrine has qualified by furnishing a bond for $100,000 and has commenced the work of administering the banks affairs. The bond was filed with the county clerk at Castle Dale, Brough Reports Year's Work-H. H. Brough, city sealer of weights and measures and oil inspector. filed his annual report with Mayor Bransford this morning. The report shows that during the year 291,076 gallons of oll were inspected, the fees for the inspections amounting to $727 Fees from inspections of scales amounted to $498.65. The total expense of the office for the year amounted to $312.20. Not Seriously Hurt-One of the steel construction gang at the New_ house buildings, named Swyer, was helping unload yesterday afternoon. when one of the beams slipped and struck him qn the shin. It was thought at first that the man's leg was broken, and a hospital ambulance was sent for. But on its arrival. Swyer's leg was found only to be badly scrap. ed and bruised. so the ambulance was returned. and the sufferer sent home to

Tingey, secretary of state of the State of Utah, VS. Green River State bank, a corporation, action for the appointment of a receiver; F. E. Woods was entered as attorney for the receiver. Mabel E. Orem vs. Robert W. and Lucinda Hill, action for foreclosure: this case went by default, but as the plaintiff had not asked for judgment, the defendant was given until the 22nd of February in which to file an aswer. Ferdinand August Heinrick Behling and Iver Lourids Gregerson, were admitted to citizenship. Several probate cases were disposed of, and at noon today the court adjourned for the term.

CASTLE DALE. DISTRICT COURT. Criminal, Civil and Probate Cases in Seventh District. Special Correspondence. Castledale, Emery Co., Oct. 28.-The district court for the Seventh judicial district convened at Castledale on Monday morning, the 26th inst., was in session a day and a half, at which the following business was disposed of. The State of Utah vs Felix Hildalgo. The State of Utah vs Charles C. Ross, both held on the charge of burglary. and both plead guilty to burglary in the third decree, without trial, Hildalgo received a sentence of nine months in the state prison, Ross got 18 months as his was a litgle the worst case. This finished the criminal docket, the civil cases were as follows: Priscilla P. Jennings et al VS Emery county, action to quiet title to coal lands that had been sold for taxes. Case continued to be heard in Salt Lake City. W. Edwin Tribble vs F. P. Fullmer and Mat Warner; action for damages, taken under advisement. State of Utah ex. rel. W. Edwin Tribble vs Frank P. Fullmer; action to oust defendant from office. Decree entered ousting defendant from office, and to pay the costs of the suit. This is a case wherein Fullmer was acting as a Justice of the peace without having qualified, and had put the plaintiff to considerable trouble through petty charges filed against him. The State of Utah, by Charles S Tingey, secretary of state of the State of Utah, VS the Green River State bank, a corporation; receivership proceedings. In this case the receiver was ordered to pay at once to the depositors and creditors of the bank 25 per cent of all claims, and to pay thereafter 10 per cent of said claims until the last month when is per cent should be paid, finishing up the payment of all outstanding accounts of the bank. Huntington, Oct. 23. -The Seventh Judicial district court met at Castledale on Monday morning, Oct. 18, and transacted the following business: State of Utah versus Arthur Anderson; two informations for forgery. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in state prison. James Jensen pleaded guilty to an offense against chastity and was sentenced to one year at hard labor in state prison. Priscilla P. Jennings et al. versus Emery county. Title to coal lands quieted in favor of plaintiffs. State of Utah, by Charles S. Tingey, secretary of state, versus the Green River State bank, a corporation. Receivership proceedings. Continued for term. Mabel E. Orem versus Robert W. and Lucinda Hill. Receiver discharged upon plaintiff's consent.
