Description

Articles (Jan 3, 1931) report the bank closed its doors and was placed in the hands of the banking commission to prevent a threatened run. There is no mention of a prior run occurring, and the regulatory takeover language suggests a suspension by government action. The sources do not state whether the bank later reopened; classification chosen as suspension_closure because the bank was turned over to the banking commission (receiver-like action).
