BANK RECEIVER Lampasas Man Named by Austin Court for Copperas Cove Bank. Roy L. Walker of Lampasas was appointed receiver for the Guaranty State bank of Copperas Cove by Judge George Calhoun in the 53rd judicial district court Tuesday on the application of Claude Pollard, attorney general, representing the state of Texas Hearing was set for May petition was filed Tuesday by Judge Pollard that receiver be appointed for Guaranty State bank at Copperas Cove, this bank having closed its doors in May, 1926, and having an alleged liability of $32,875 with assets amounting to only $3,168.10. the petition alleged. REPRESENTS ST. EDWARD'S Elmore Borchers was chosen Tuesday night to represent St. Edward's university in coming oratorical contests in the state. Judges for the contest which Borchers won were the Rev. Michael Quinlan, CSC, the Rev William Cartwright, CSP, and Meredith Posey. COPPERAS COVE BANK RECEIVER IS ASKED AUSTIN. April 12.-A receiver for the Guaranty State Bank at Copperas Cove is sought in a suit filed for the State by Attorney General Claude Pollard in District Court here TuesDespite the filing of a disposition to dissolve. the bank has "wholly failed and refused to pay all sums due depositors and creditors.' discoverable within six months after date of filing. the petition alleges. Assets are given only $3,168.10 and liabilities as $32,875.34 Veteran, 83, Is Dead. TROUP. April 11.-W. C. Moore. 83 years old. Confederate veteran. died the home of his daughter. Mrs. John Lanham, eight miles east of here. One daughter and two sons survive.
