# FINALLY RELEASED. S. J. Walling Will Not Be Tried On Charges Against Him. Waco, Tex., Dec. 18.-(Special.)-S. J. Walling, formerly cashier, and later president of the now defunct City National bank of Brownwood, was finally released today from all charges against him in the Federal court in connection with the suspension of the bank and alleged mismanagement of its affairs. More than a year ago he was tried and acquitted on an indictment charging him with embezzlement of the bank's funds to the extent of $70,000. An indictment remained against him for false certification of checks. Today upon motion of Hon, George Clark, Judge Swayne dismissed the indictment upon the ground that the offense charged was substantially disposed of upon the previous trial. Walling now resides at Macon, Ala.
