THESE LIE DOWN. Backwash of the Late Financial Stringency. LAREDO, Tex., Jan. 7.-Messrs. Charles F. Yeager and B. F. Nicholson were yesterday appointed receivers of the Laredo Improvement company. Mr. Moore, of Lutcher &. Moore, of San Antonio, president of the company. says the assets are $395,000, the actual cost of the real estate and improvements,and their electric street car railroad. He also places their liabilities, including capital stock, at $355,000. he bond of the receivers has been approved by District Judge Russell. NASHVILLE, Tenn., Jan. 7.-A Clarksville. Tenn., special says: E. S. Peck, a banker of Frankfort, Kan., has been appointed receiver of the Farmers' and Merchants' bank in this city. Resumed Business. NASHVILLE, April 21.-The Farmers' and merchants' bank in this city resumed business yesterday. The bank has abundance of money to meet all claims that may be presented. No large depositors have withdrawn their money. This bank breaks the record, being the first national bank that ever resumed after having passed into the hands of a receiver.
