Under the new ruling from the State Bank Department we may credit to new checking accounts 50% of the customer's balance, after paying checks which were in transit and dated on or before March 3. We advise that you have your account balanced at once, and when your vouchers are returned, check over and allow for such checks as are outstanding, or in transit, on or before March 3. Then notify us of the balance, and we will charge the old account one-half and credit new account, and so enter it on your book, or on your statement. All new deposits are credited on this new account, and all checks which are outstanding, dated after March 3, will be charged to the new account. After signature you should add the words "new account," thus helping the bank. You should not draw on out-of-town checks deposited to your account until the bank has had time to collect them.
