BANK OF WITTEN IS SUSPENDED EXAMINER'S OFFICE TOOK BANK PRIDAY-CASHIER OF DEFUNCT BANK IS ABSENT FROM TOWN. Witten, S. D.-The German American State bank of Witten, was placed in the hands of an examiner Friday, following the disclosure that it was unable to reinstate its impaired cash reserve. The assets amount to about $15,000 while the liabilities are $10,600. The cashier of the bank is absent. The officers of the bank are S. D. Ewing, president, Daniel Smith vice president and F. G. Kurtz, cashier. It seems that Mr. Kurtz departed from the city and the bank was closed by the president, Friday night.
