Charleston Bank Closed For Time Liberty in Hands of State- Examiner Pending Decision as to Future Charleston, Jan. 27. - Representatives of the state bank examiner's office have been in the city for several days making an examination of the Liberty bank, and upon resolution of\ the board of directors have taken over the bank for 30 days pending final decision as to its future operation. It is stated that the receivables of the Liberty bank are very largely secured by mortgages of real estate. which fact should make them ultimately collectible. but necessarily slow of collection. This fact has contributed to the bank's embarrassment. it is said. If the bank examiner should ask for receivers for 'e bank time will be required for the orderly and economical liquidation of its affairs but it is believed that there will be no ultimate loss to depositors. The Liberty bank is not affiliated with any other bank and does not owe any bank anyl large amount. it is said.
