Bank of Bowman Asks For Receiver J. LeRoy Dukes of Orang burg Named Orangeburg, August 4-The Peoples Bank of Bowman has been placed in the hands of a receiver. after an unsuccessful effort on the part of the directors and stockholders to place the bank again upon its feet. A resolution was passed by. the stockholders at a regular meeting petitioning the state bank exeminer to have receiver appointed. The necessary papers were prepared by W. M. Wolfe, the attorney zeneral, and the court named J. Lewoy Dukes of Orangeburg as receiver. The loans and discounts of the bank aggregate $245.000. Those owing the bank are cooperating with the receiver in an effort to pay or satisfactorily arrange their paper, The prospect is that practically every loan will be collected: and all creditors of the bank paid, as well as the depositors.
