FORT PIERCE BANK CLOSES TO BUSINESS Notice States Action Made Pending Investigation By State Examiner Special to The Post Fort Pierce Aug. The Fort Pierce Bank and Trust company did not open for business this morning here. posted on the door stated: bank closed pending action by the state bank examiner.' C. M. president gave as the reason for unusually heavy withdrawals since July Mr Horton succeeded E. L. Pierce as president several months ago. While news of the closing came as shock most citizens there was little excitement noticeable today in the business district. Preparations had been made at the St. Lucie County Bank and Trust company to care for heavy withdrawals, but there was nothing in the nature of run at that institution Officials of the St. Lucie County Bank and Trust company stated that several new accounts been opened and that withdrawals were little in excess of those on an average Saturday.
