These of servations were taken from a sbaded point and are considered a fair test of the degree of heat. BANKS CLOSED.-The Bank of Lawrence County-late New Castle-has closed its doors. The money bad not been current for some days here, and its suspension is no surj rise. The Tioga County Bank of Wellsborough, Penna., has been thrown out. We are told considerable of this money is in circulation here. The Artisan's bank, Trenton, N.J., is discredited, and not received by the Banking institutions here.
