Description

Articles (Oct 14โ€“15, 1931) report the Texas State Bank & Trust Co. of Corpus Christi 'failed to open' / 'closed to prevent a threatened run' after the affiliated First State Bank at Kingsville closed. The stories do not state whether the Corpus Christi institution permanently failed or later reopened; I classify as a suspension (preventative closure) caused by distress of a local affiliated bank. Episode_type chosen as 'suspension_reopening' although reopening is not documented in the supplied articles โ€” selected because the article frames the action as a temporary closure to prevent a run rather than an assignment to a receiver. If you prefer a strictly uncertain classification, I can change to 'other' or 'suspension_closure'.
