IRVING PAGE APPOINTED STIGLER BANK RECEIVER Man Prominent in Harreld Campaign Takes Charge of American National Affairs ACTION IS SURPRISE HERE Appointment of Irving Page, prominent figure in the campaigns of Senator John W. Harreld, as reçeiver for the defunct American National bank at Stigler was announced here yesterday. Page was in Stigler late yesterday, checking over the bank's accounts with E. F. AUen, national bank examiner of this city. He will take charge immediately Appointment of the Harreld man came as a surprise here, it having been reported that Harwood Keaton of Okmulgee would receive the position. Keaton backed W. B. Pine in his successful senatorial race. The American National bank of Stigler failed early "in February with liabilities of approximately $150,000. J. B. Sylender was president at the time of the failure. Page received his appointment from Comptroller of the Currency McIntosh. For brief period several months ago, Page was receiver for the National bank. He was named to succeed L. R. Kershaw, the original receiver, who resigned because of the pressure or his private business. At the request of numerous business leaders and depositors, Kershaw was persuaded to withtiraw his resignation and was reappointed.
