Description

Two contemporaneous newspaper reports (Aug 16, 1893) describe a 'slight run' on the Farmers & Traders Bank in Gallatin and that the directors posted a notice that only 10 percent would be paid 'for the present.' That indicates a partial suspension of payments following a depositor run. There is no information in the supplied articles about a later reopening or permanent closure, so the outcome is unsure. I corrected the event date to 1893-08-15 (the articles dated Aug 16 say the run occurred 'yesterday').
