AUTHORIZE COUNTY TO PAY BILLS OF SCHOOL
Acting on the opinion of Prosecuting Attorney L. E. Harvey the county board of eduaction Wednesday authorized the payment of the current bills the Newton township board of education by the county auditor from the general fund of the county. The funds of the township board have been tied up because of the closing of the Pleasant Hill bank and this was the only method possible by which the board could pay

PLEASANT HILL WILL NOT HOLD INSTITUTE
Officers of the Pleasant Hill farmers' institute announced Thursday that the institute will not be held this year because of the closing of the Pleasant Hill bank.
The suspension of the bank has so affected the financial situation in Newton township that the officers of the institute felt it would be impossible to finance the affair this year.
The dates of the Pleasant Hill institute, January 30 and 31, have been taken by the Elizabeth institute which had been planned for January 12 and 13.
