FEBRUARY 6-Xerxes Farrar, 86, president of Central National Bank dies. Mathew L. Rea, 89, for many years a director in Central National Bank dies at home on North Main Street. Both resided on North Main Street, a few squares apart; both were directors in bank and Madison County Children's Home, and died only few hours apart. FEBRUARY 7-Cold wave grips town, mercury 6 below. FEBRUARY 8-Lt. Mary A. Tope, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cary C. Tope, Sedalia, assigned dietitian with 37th Station Hospital at Command on Okinawa.
