C. came Thursday for visit with his parents, Asa Crawford and wife. J. S. Kunkle of Toledo spent from Friday night until Sunday here with his wife who had spent three weeks here returned with him.

RED CROSS AID FOR STORM AREA Drive to be Made to Raise Funds for Hurricane Sufferers The following telegram relating to the hurricane disaster in the West Indies has been received: "Judge C. Newcomer: Chairman Bryan Chapter American Red Cross Bryan, Ohio. First surveys both Porto Rico and Florida disaster received at midnight by cable from Baker and telephone from Schafer indicate needs both places far ex ceed preliminary estimate in Porto Rico four hundred thousand destitute and near to starvation with grave health problems and threatened epidemics. Refugees must be fed, clothed, sheltered by Red Cross for long emergency period. In Florida fifteen thousand families requiring immediate emergency aid and later rehabilitation. Five million dollars will be absolute minimum required as relief fund. This places your chapter quota at 525 dollars. Confident when people your community realize grave need response will be immediate and generous. Urge you bend every effort exceed this quota if possible. John Barton Payne." Bryan Chapter of the American Red Cross will hold a meeting in the women's rest room in the court house Friday evening, September 28, at 7:30 p. m. to arrange plans for drive to raise the quota for this chapter. It is suggested that this drive be combined with the annual Red Cross roll call which comes in November and that this take care of both our quota in the hurricane disaster and a sum for our current needs to support the Red Cross nurse and other local emergencies Representatives of the Edgerton branch are requested to be present at the meeting Friday evening to plan in making arrangements for the drive. COURT NEWS only. Lucile Finley vs. James Finley, divorce decreed to the plaintiff on the ground of extreme cruelty, and she was restored to her maiden name. Charles W. Kent is asking for divorce from Lillie M. Kent. They were married in Camden in 1886. He contends that she has absented herself from the home for weeks at a time, has completely ignored him at times and told him she was above him socially and he contends that he seeks divorce to end this intolerable situation.
