CRIMES AND CASUALTIES-BY TELEGRAPH. The Union Bank of Marietta, Ohio, has suspended payment. James McElhany, convicted of the murder of his wife in Boston, was sentenced Saturday to be hanged. The Oregon Woolen-mills, in Oregon City, have been destroyed by fire. The loss is $125,000; insurance, $30,090. Etter, Carmony & Liplis'ssaw-mill, at Middletown, Penn., was burned Saturday night. Loss, $15,000; insured $7,000. James Cannon, a laborer, is under arrest in Taunton, Mass., on suspicion of murdering his wife, who was found dead in bed Saturday morning. A dispatch from La Grange, Ky., says that Benjamin F. Mickey, who was to have been hanged at that place Friday, has been granted & new trial. The nitro-glycerine magazine in Scrubgrass, Penn., owned by Mr. Roberts, exploded Saturday. Harry J. Wolfe, a telegrapher, and Dr. R. A. Wright, torpedo agent, were blown to pieces. ....A new trial for Marra for the assault on Alderman McMullen of Philadelphia has been refused. The prisoner has been sentenced to six years and nine mouths' imprisonment and to pay a fine of $1,000. Charles D. Coon was convicted, at San Francisco, Saturday, of grand Jarceny in stealing several thousand dollars' worth of mining stocks from a broker, in whose employ be was three years ago. Angus Murray, engineer, and John Shefran, fireman of a freight trate on the European and North American Railroad, were instantly killed on Saturday by ranning into a gravel train about eight miles from St. John, N. B. A fire in Canal-st., Worcester, Mass., yesterday, destroyed a (stable belonging to Wm. J. McDonald and E. B. Walker. Fourteen horses, three hacks, and several carriages were burned. The total loss is about $6,000. Another body was taken from the ruins of the Boston fire yesterday, but had not been identified up to a late hour. A party of firemen from Cambridge were searching throughout the day for the body of one of their number who is missing. Frank B. Kimball, a carpenter by trade, age 45, and a married man with a family, committed suicide by taking poison at Manchester, N. H., Saturday morning. in a room occupied by a young woman. Suspension of a Marietta Bank. CINCINNATI, Nov. 24. - The Union Bank of Marietta, Ohio, has suspended payment. It is understood that this is the result of complications growing out of the suspension of W. P. Cutler, announced yesterday morning.

Three dwellings were burned in Bath, opposite Albany, N. Y., Saturday evening. Loss $8000. Ten men were drowned in Davenport harbor, Eng., by the capsizing of a boat belonging to the British transport Himilya. The stable of McDonald & Walker in Worcester, containing 14 horses, 3 hacks and several carriages, was burned early Sunday morning. Loss $6,000. Edward Harris, a prominent manufacturer of Woonsocket, died Sunday afternoon. Sir John Bowring, formerly editor of the Westminster Review, member of Parliament, and British minister to China, died Friday. James Robinson, brother of the ex-Congressman, was found dead on a doorstep in Brooklyn Friday night. It is not known whether he was murdered or not. J. R. Colley, Esq.. of Manchestar, N. H., felli in the street on Friday, in an apoplectic fit, and but slight hopes are entertained of his recovery. The contributions for the relief of sufferers by the Bostou fire, up to Sunday night,amounted to $140,065. Father Barke delivered a lecture in Boston Sunday on "The future of the Irish race in America," for the benefit of the sufferers by the fire to an overwhelmning audience. Benj. Fillicky. who was to be hung in La Grange, Ky., Friday, gets another trial instead of a legal choking. Barney Woods, convicted of the murder of Mr. Cheeseman, has been respited till December 6th. The Union Bank of Marietta, O., has suspended payment. The saw mill of Messrs. Elter, Carmany & Siplis, at Middletown, Pa., was burned Saturday night. Loss $15,000. Ex-Controller Connolly has joined his family in Spain. Krelas, the German forger, was sent home in the steamer Main Saturday. The La Resurrection, of Paris, has been suppressed. The U.S. Cutter Moccasin and the steamer Bay Queen were badly damaged by a collision in Newport harbor Saturday.
