FOUR DIVORCES GRANTED AT SHORT CALENDAR SESSION. Other Motions Were Heard by Judge Donald T. Warner. Judge Donald T. Warner granted four divorces at a short calendar session of the superior court in Norwich Friday. All of the cases were uncontested. Austeria Elizabeth Stewart of Norwich was granted a divorce from Robert James Stewart of parts unknown on the grounds of desertion. They were married in 1909 and the pétitioner was given the custody of a minor child Her maiden name was Morris. John L. Beckwith of Hartford was given a divorce from Maud I. Beckwith of Niantic on the grounds of CAsertion. They were married in Niantic in 1913, and he declared that when they went to Hartford she became dissatisfied and would not stay there, returning to Niantic. Philomena Caracusa of Groton was granted a divorce from Salvatore Caracusa of New London on the grounds of impotency. The cse was partially heard last week and continued for a physician's certificate and evidence Dr. E. A. Henkle of New London was in court and testified to the defendant's condition Fred W. Smith of Norwich was granted a. divorce from Beatrice Smith on the grounds of desertion. This case was also continued from last week. when it was partially heard. Attorney Barnes for the plaintiff introduced to Judge Warner two letters. on the strength of which the. divorce was granted. The case of Grace L. Fish of Norwich against Charles T. Fish of Preston was partially heard and continued for more evidence, They were married in 1910 and desertion is alleged. The case of Vernon A. Mallone against Alice Agnes Mallone was continued. RS it developed that the name should be Malbone instead of Mallone, and new orders of notice will have to be. secured. Judgment by stipulation was reached in the case of Charity and Relief Lodge Masonic Corporation V8 Wolfe and others and Matsewski vs. Wheeler. In the case of Gabrielle Lupo vs. Robert H. Burrows. exr., and others. indgment of foreclosure was granted for the sum of $3275.58 and there are other claims of $1400. $148 and for taxes due. The property is in Groton near Noank and Henry L. Bailey said the pla is worth from $10,000 to $12,000. Part is a water front. Two months were allowed for redemption. A motion for default against all non-appearing defendants was granted A demurrer was discussed in the case of Melina M. Williams and others of Norwich vs. Orient Fire Insurance Co., and the court took the papers. The claim is insurance of $1200. In the case of Douglas TS: H. R. Donglass, Inc., it was agre 18 that the court will sit in New London on Jan. 7 to hear motions as regards liens and other questions. The monthly report of the receiver was filed. a contract for cômpleting the construction of the Melcer Memorial school was approved and also. an order for the sale of the hardware business of the firm in question. Bonds of $75 were ordered in the two cases of Minor and Ingraham vs Osborn. Two weeks were allowed for an answer in the case of Cohen VS. Kalmonowitz. An order was passed upon the motion of John D. Hall the receiver of the Thames Loan and Trust Co., in regard to a note of $200 and claim of C. B. Strong, late of Lebanon. It was ordered that all dividends in connection with the matter be applied torthe payment of the note. The court will not sit here next week and it was adjourned by Sheriff Draper to come in here on January 1.

FINAL HEARING SET FOR THAMES LOAN ACCOUNT Receiver Hall is to Present His Account on June 21. Upon an application for an order for a hearing upon the final account and statement of Receiver John D. Hall in the matter of the Thames Loan and Trust Co., Judge John H. Keeler at the short calendar session of the superior court here on Friday morning appointed June 21, at 10 a. m. as the date for the hearing. The receiver's monthly report to April 1, 1918, was approved and also the report to May 1. Petition of Frederick W. Mercer for payment of certain preferred claims and petitions to sell property free from certain liens were both granted. Foreclosure in the sum of $3,451.32 was granted to the Savings Bank of New London against Dennis Murphy and others with the first Tuesday of September for limit of redemption. Judge Keeler took the papers after hearing the arguments on defendant Gilbey's demurrer in Nelson Howard. adrm. vs. William M. Redden and others. and James Williamson vs. Redden. and Leonard Maynard VS. Redden. The judge also took the papers on approval of Appleton Main, overseer of the Ledyard tribe of Pequot Indians. Answer in two weeks was ordered in Frederic W. Mercer, receiver VS. Lawrence B. Brockett. A number of cases were postponed or went off.
