"HEAD" LEADS TO RUN ON BANK Editor's Carelessness Causes Thousands to Be Withdrawn. Rochester, N. Y., Dec. 12.-Investigation of the run on the East Side Savings Bank today convinced the officials that it resulted from the careless "heading up" of a news item by an editor of one of the Rochester newspapers. The item was that covering the run on two East Side banks in New York last Friday and it was so headed that foreigners accepted it as referring to the East Side Savings Bank here. The run was not ended until yesterday afternoon. Thousands of dollars were withdrawn from the bank, but it is in no danger, the directors say.
