Commercial and Money Matters. For sales at the Stock Exchange, &.c. see Last Page. MONDAY P. M. There was a much better feeling at the Stock Board to-day, and nearly every description improved. The news from the other side, coupled with the movement in Cotton and the decline of Exchange, has given confidence to operators that Stocks must go up. Exchange is very heavy to-day, and some Virginia bank bills sold at 9c. We quote It for the best bills. Francs are 5. 30 a 5.271, with nothing doing. The remaining assets of the Commercial Bank, by order of the Receiver, were offered at Auction todav. [Notes and jndgments against various individuals were sold, to the amount of $100,000, for the aggregate sum of $260. Judgments against Geo. D. Strong for upward of $50,000 were knocked down at $24. The largest amount received for one item was $57 for a note of Geo. Field for $200. The Quarterly Report of the Commercial Bank of Rochester shows a circulation of $100,715 against $122,048 in November, $103,981 in August, and $78,082 in January, 1843. While the circulation has decreased $21,300 since November, the deposites have increased $52,946, being $94,249 against $41,303 at that time. The circulation of the Rochester City Bank is $165,455 against $266,669 in November, $156,118 in August, and $114,898 in January, 1843-showing a decrease of $101,200 since Nov.
