Evangelist Who Spoke in Martins Ferry Is Sued PITTSBURGH Oct. 17.-Ira S. Bassett, former evangelist and member of the now defunct Pittsburgh Comercial Club. today was made defendant in an involuntary petition in bankruptcy before Judge Charles P. Orr in United States district court. The petition WAS filed by John P. Carlson and Charles A. Reith. of Pittsburgh. and I. F. Blesecker. of Somerset. The creditors alleged claims aggregating $76,341. The Southside Trust Company was appointed receiver.
